Yesterday’s meeting!

Image
We enjoyed a very interesting meeting yesterday, well attended despite the drenching rain! There were loads of activities to sign up for and plenty of chat going on! Fabulous! Well done Jayne and everyone involved! We have lots of spaces on the wine tasting evening, 29th November, organised by Tina - it promises to be a lot of fun! Please tell Tina if you would like to join in. Here are some of the gorgeous flowers.

Delivery of our first scrubs!

Today I took 15 sets of scrubs and 15 bags along to Douglas House! Tracey, the manager, was very pleased! We need to make small and medium sizes now! Just keep sewing, just keep sewing....

Good news!

This very morning I have spoken with Downham Textiles Ltd and they are sending 125m of fabric! It should arrive tomorrow or Friday! Exciting! John and I will cut it into scrubs sized lengths and get it delivered to you all, along with some thread! Woo hoo!

Progress!

So far I have 5 sets of L scrubs and 2 XL - and 1 bag! Thank you Alison, Rosemary, Miranda, Margaret, me and thank you to our courier, Anj! Also! I now have the tape for the trousers, the cord for the bags and a spool of cotton for everyone!  I am still waiting to hear from the company with whom I have placed the fabric order. One of our kind volunteers, Elly, has agreed to be the ‘threader’! She has all the tape and cord, so as soon as I receive your scrubs or bags, I will pass them to her for the finishing touches!

If you have downloaded your pattern from the Sew Me Something website, then you will have all of the cutting information. For those who have a pattern traced from an original: Please note the markings on each fabric piece! Carefully written by me or my husband! Top: cut one front piece on the fold (if you don’t have enough fabric, you could make a seam here) The front is marked with three pocket placings and a dot to show where the side seam split begins        Cut one back piece on the fold Cut one front neck facing on the fold Cut one back neck facing *** place the “fold” edge 1/2 cm away from the fabric fold, to make it a bit larger - otherwise the fit is not easy Cut three patch pockets Trousers Cut two back legs, marked to place one patch pocket and the inside pockets. Cut two front legs, marked to place the inside pockets Cut 4 inside pockets The patterns you have been given are for size L We have been asked to make size XL - so cut around the pieces with
